Hi all, I was able to do some related internships in the US during my studies, which led me to land a BA job right out of college. During the last 7 years I've grown to the top of the salary range for this job. Company strategy is to pay slightly above market average for this job. This means that as a BA, especially at my age, there is little to no room for financial growth.
I realise that it's an amazing package and that I should consider myself very lucky, but I feel that it is slowly becoming time for something new. Mainly because of the feeling I might get stuck where I am now. Going to a new job/company scares me but somehow I feel like it would be for the best. I value WLB and while I enjoy fast-paced environments, I do not have the stamina to perform well for more than 40h/week for longer periods of time.
I don't know how to go about deciding which direction I want to go into next. I'm not in a hurry, but when I do make the jump I want to make a jump financially as well. These are the options I'm considering:
- BA as a freelancer
- Going in the direction of (IT) product management
- Going in the direction of IT management.
Any advice regarding my situation and where to go next is greatly appreciated!
