7. ADDITIONAL NOTES

  • I don't like bragging, but I've been with the same client for 8 years now, and I'm the go-to person for all their critical IT processes. We all know that no one is indispensable, but if I were to leave, it would be quite a challenge in the short term (dare I say 'disaster') for both their ongoing projects and their day-to-day operations. My employer is well aware of this too.
  • I've had several discussions with management (both client and my employer) about addressing the excessive workload for my team and me. You can probably imagine how those conversations played out. They tend to agree with us during the talks, but then there's no follow-through on their part. Shocking.
  • As stress levels keep rising, I can't help but think that "I'm not getting paid enough for this sh*t". This is the primary reason for my post here, to seek an outside perspective. Honestly, I'm unsure if any pay increase would even be enough if the workload situation remains unchanged, but it's a step in the right direction.
  • I'm aware that going freelance is an option and would earn significantly more. Like, € 900 a day wouldn't be a stretch, because someone did an oopsie and CC'd me the invoice for my services once. However that's a door I'm not really willing to open right now.

Thanks for any feedback
