Hello,

I broke into entry level IT in May 22, I started and still am on Helpdesk, although I have the cute tittle due to working as a consultant.I'm on my second employer, first one was not great, it was mostly used as a stepping stone.I like this employer, although I won't be renewing the contract with the client they have me at by the end of year. I feel like after 2 years it's time to move on to a more technical role, they were receptive of this and agreed to help. If they can't help me I'll stop for some time in order to get certified.

It's a bit overwhelming to know where to go next since possibilities are immense. I'm thinking of focusing on Networking, Linux, scrippting and eventually get to some kind of system administration role.

Anyway, my questions is? What do you think of my salary for Entry-Level?Because I'm looking at this other positions for Linux engineer, Network engineer, System engineer and all kind of crazy jobs, with an enourmous amount of required skills, and roles (the one that show) offer 2500 - 3500 gross and it feels like super low ball offers for me. And i'm just trying to get a sense of direction here as i really want to work into exponentialzing my salary with time, but it seems like a lot of skills to have or acquire just for that.

(Special when you see salaries and requirements in Switzerland or the US, but let's not even go there.)

Tl;DR: My dumbass is worried about having to work a lot just to get below or averages salaries for the rest of my life

Thanks for any FB!
