  • Working 4/5: I want to provide some more context and information as to why I’m working 4/5 because otherwise there will be a lot of questions about this topic 😀.**

I started freelancing almost 8 years ago, combining my freelance activities with a fulltime job. At certain times, I was working 60 hours/week easily - so switching to 4/5 made the most sense: combining certainty of income and advantages as an employee with doing my own thing for my own clients. With the kid coming into play, I now have some more family time and balance + flexibility. Which I obviously like.

On a yearly basis I invoice about €55K from my own company. The only big cost I have is my car (which my wife mainly uses) and I don’t pay myself a salary as the owner. I use dividends in order to “cash out”.
